I've been in the GNU / Linux world since the first release of ESware, a distribution that used Redhat 5 as a base. I participate in several IRC groups related to Ubuntu as moderator. I have also worked with mobile devices for many years: Zaurus, Android and Ubuntu Touch.

I currently work as a Java programmer in a measurement equipment company.

To program applications in GNU / Linux there are a variety of alternatives. If we focus on Ubuntu, you can program applications that run on the desktop and on mobile devices (Ubuntu Touch). This workshop aims to explain from scratch the steps to follow to program a calculator that can be used in both environments.

It will use QML for the user interface and JavaScript for the application logic. Attendees will begin with a basic version of the calculator that they will be improving.
